Richard’s Home

I visited my friend Richard’s apartment and dropped off tide change i. A manager at a lighting studio, Richard siphons the ethos of the company into styling his space, using lush materials and both modernist and contemporary pieces that veer toward eclecticism. Mid-century conservatism populates his dining area, where a classic Eames Table, Round, sits nearby an Aeron chair. In contrast, his living area is a colorful panoply of sculptural furniture and objects including a sofa by Patricia Urquiola, and a laminate coffee table and credenza. A prominent fixture in the living area is an amorphous, amoebic sculpture.

In his bedroom, Richard follows a stoic skein with minimalist Hem side tables and lighting by Michael Anastasiades. The structure of the IC Light complements tide change i in a dialogue of linear reduction.

Tide change i leans against the wall beside a Hem side table.
